Through our dedicated partners at Cowichan River Lodge only an hour north of Villa Eyrie, we are able to offer a full variety of freshwater fishing trips for practically any time of the year. As one of the quintessential ways to experience Vancouver Island, we can help arrange for a half-day or full-day excursion with enough notice ahead of your stay with us.
Accessible roughly from October to mid-May, drift down the tranquil Cowichan River, all while an experienced guide shows you the best ways to catch trout with incredible wildlife sightseeing opportunities throughout. Also available is our hotel package that bundles rooms, fine dining and a full-day excursion.
In case you aren’t in the mood for fishing, you can still drift down the Cowichan River and experience the beautiful island scenery filled with eagle, elk, bear, osprey and otter sightings. A hot lunch can also be arranged.
Wild Pacific Fishing
A truly prolific summer experience, this guided charter starts well before sunrise with a spectacular drive out to the bucolic Port Renfrew straddling the untamed West Coast of Vancouver Island. From there, steady yourself for a full-day trek through the turbulent waters of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the infamous Swiftsure Bank. Due to the extremely high demand for ocean charters, we ask that you inquire about this experience several months in advance.
Gulf Islands Fishing
Often departing during the summer months from Mill Bay less than ten minutes from Villa Eyrie, the more placid waters surrounding the Southern Gulf Islands offer excellent opportunities for catching halibut, ling cod, rockfish and all types of salmon migrating their way back to their fall spawning grounds. Your captain may even drop a few traps over the side to scoop up some crabs or prawns! Due to the extremely high demand for ocean charters, we ask that you inquire about this experience several months in advance.
