Starting this May, Alpina Restaurant will take our guests’ culinary experience to new heights with three exclusive “Chef’s Table” events. During Chef’s Table, guests will meet, mingle and dine with the man behind the menu himself, our very own Michelin trained, executive chef, Mario Gross. The event will feature an intimate and exclusive evening overlooking the tranquil Vancouver Island wilderness, as Mario explores the history, ingredients and final product with his guests of the evening.

Mario Gross Completed his Culinary apprenticeship at the age of 19, at the one Michelin-star Relais & Chateaux Hotel Dollenberg, in the Black Forest of Germany.

He built steadily upon this foundation of excellence, next at Der Alphenhof hotel near Munich. As the Executive Chef at Villa Eyrie Resort, he is fundamental to the restaurant. Mario strives to apply his skills, passion, tasting prowess and search for perfection to the unforgettable fine dining experiences at Alpina Restaurant. His exciting vision for cuisine utilizes fresh and thoughtfully hand selected elements, bringing a culmination of distinguished backgrounds and a wealth of culinary experience to every table at Alpina Restaurant.
